no technofeudalism
technofeudalism describes what happens when a few companies gain control over the digital systems that shape work, communication and public life. earning a living and accessing essential services should not require surrendering our privacy or accepting decisions we have no power to challenge.
ai governance requires technical expertise, demonstrated ethical judgment and a duty to the public, with independence from the companies under review. public institutions must be able to require safety testing and pause expansion when protections fall short, as they have recently.
the measure of progress is whether greater technological capacity translates into greater reform, including the power to challenge the terms on which it enters the lives we built without it.
